Armentha Cruise, president & CEO of Aspen group awarded the ‘Women in Business Champion’ award by The DC Chamber of Commerce.
WASHINGTON, DC, June 15, 2011 – The DC Chamber of Commerce held it’s first ‘Chamber’s Champions’ Small Business Awards and Expo at the National Museum of Women in Arts. The event designed to honor the achievements of 40,000 + small businesses throughout the District of Columbia was a success with a huge turnout of exhibiting vendors and guests. Armentha “Mike” Cruise was among three nominees for the Women in Business Champion award category. It is given to an individual who has fulfilled a commitment to the advancement of women’s business ownership, has actively supported legislative or regulatory action to help small businesses and has strengthened the role of women business owners in the community. This is a precise description of Ms. Cruise who has been in business for over 23 years, with a considerable portion of her time spent mentoring, partnering with and supporting other businesses and programs. The Chamber of Commerce headed up by president and CEO Barbara Lang designed the program with the intent to recognize and exhibit those businesses that embody the entrepreneurial spirit. Ms. Lang presented Armentha Cruise with the distinctive award followed by many congratulations from DC’s political and business leadership community.
